Barry Collett
Dr Barry Collett was born in Melbourne and brought up in a remote area of East Gippsland, before studying at Melbourne University. Barry completed his doctoral studies at the University of Oxford under the supervision of renowned historian, Hugh Trevor-Roper (Lord Dacre). He taught history at Melbourne University, brokered Gulf funding for a post in Middle Eastern history at the University of Melbourne, has already published several books and articles. Since 2005, he has been a research fellow at Oxford University, where he is completing a biography for Corpus Christi College of its founder (in 1517) of Richard Fox, Privy Seal to Henry VII and Henry VIII. He is also writing historical fiction on the Renaissance period, and his memoirs of bush childhood.
